Are You Sure You're Not The Problem?

Aliz AJ |

We’ve all been there and we all know how helpless that feeling is.

When you feel everything is spinning out of control and there is NOTHING at all you can do to stop it.

You feel helpless, weak and as if you were stripped of all your power and the only thing you want to do is just lash out and lose control.

I was there just until recently, and if I hadn’t realized what was causing my life to fall apart, I don’t know where I would be right now.

I was sitting in my den, thinking about everything that was going wrong. My job wasn’t getting me anywhere, my dating life sucked and my friends always seemed to never be around.

And then it hit me like a brick. Ironically, at the same time I looked directly into my mirror I kept in the den.

I was looking directly at the single source of my problems.

It was me all along.

It was my negativity, my constant blocking of personal responsibility and my laziness.

I was allowing myself to become a loser and I never noticed it until now.

It was at this moment, after I took a long hard look at myself; I mean, I looked DIRECTLY in my own eyes and I said this simple phrase,

“That’s it. This. Is. It. Enough is enough!”

I can look back at that day as being the best and worst day of me entire life. The day I accepted all my own faults as my own. I was why I wasn’t where I wanted to be.

I changed, and I will tell you exactly how you can change today.

  • Start every morning with an external positive vibe. I choose to start every morning with a cup of coffee and a motivational video I can find on the internet.
  • Write down EVERYTHING you want in your life and keep it with you every time. All of your goals, dreams and ambitions. That way you can check off whatever you just accomplished.
  • Understand you will not always get want the first time, but that’s no reason not to try again.
  • Improve yourself. Go to the gym, read a book, learn something new that you can use.

It was here, in this moment, I found out exactly how I was going to make this change happen. And I’m going to tell you exactly how I did it.

To get right, start right

I saw each and every morning as the best opportunity to start right. Regardless of what happened the night before, how I slept, or how early it was. It doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter

Because I knew I had to start the morning off right.

  1. Begin each morning with some sort of positive audio in your head. Whether it’s a YouTube video, a song, or an audio book. Put that shit on first thing in the AM and just listen. If it’s not getting you hyped, emotion or

ready to hit the ground running, find something else.

  1. Write down a sentence of affirmation to yourself and put it somewhere where you can see it. Use a post-it note and write down what makes you different than anybody else on this planet.
  2. Repeat EVERY morning. No excuses and no exceptions.

Once the day has started right, it will begin to end right. Don’t think this is egotism or narcissism because that would be disrespectful to you. This is self respect, self love and self appreciation.

Keep a Journal

This empty book is to be kept with you all the time or (if you’re like me you have really REALLY bad handwriting) you can keep a journal on your phone. This is for you to write down the following:

  1. Goals, both long term and short term. Goals such as: Personal, financial and employment goals.
  2. Places you want to visit. How long you want to visit them and what you would do when you get there.
  3. Things you want to own. That new house, that fast car, that huge truck, or that expensive piece of furniture.
  4. Things you feel about your life and what you want to see change. (Be honest with yourself. No bullshit)

The purpose of this is not only to keep your focus sharp, but to begin marking off things on these lists that you’ve done, achieved and accomplished as time goes on. Because there’s nothing better than checking off a huge goal that you’ve been bound and determined to achieve.

The Law of the Land

Picture the farmer. He spends so much time, energy, effort and money on bringing his crop ready to harvest when the time is just right.

He sees his crop growing as growing and, finally, it’s time to reap the fruits of labor.

Then, without warning ….

A huge storm comes in and wipes out the whole damn thing. Leaving nothing for the farmer to reap.

This, my friends, is law of the land.

There WILL come a time that, no matter how hard you’ve worked for something, SOME THINGS JUST DON’T WORK OUT FOR YOU

Now, with that being said, let me ask you this,

“Is this reason enough to not even try?”

The correct answer for those of you who are still thinking about it is, “HELL NO!

Life is full of too many inconsistencies and possibilities to determine what’s the best choice to take, but we damn sure know there’s a high probability of failing if you DON’T try.

Failure ONLY exists when YOU choose to give up. If you don’t give up, you’ll never fail at something.

Personal Development

This is the most important part of change. Personal Development, in my opinion, is the development of an individual's’ value. Value, to me, is everything.

Your value will determine:

  1. Your wealth
  2. Your social status
  3. Your future
  4. Your quality of opportunities
  5. Your quality of life

We get paid by our value, not by our time. So invest in yourself, RIGHT NOW.

  • Read more books. See how the best of the best accomplished their goals and made their dreams come true.
  • Workout more often. The better shape you’re in, the better your quality of life is.
  • Separate yourself from individuals who aren’t on your level. You can’t soar with the eagles if you’re hanging out with buzzards.
  • Take time to learn something new as often as possible. Whether it’s a trade, another language or another skill. Never stop learning.
  • ALWAYS give back. Just because you’re a valuable individual doesn’t mean you’re better than anyone.

Life stops when we stop. You’ve heard of the phrase, “Use it or Lose it” right? That applies here.

Once all this was made clear, life seemed to get better from me from the beginning. This is a lifelong journey; as life IS about the journey, as well as the destination of where you’re headed.

Are you ready to go on your new adventure?
